How Can I Get Involved With Movember?

The Movember Foundation is the leading global organisation committed to changing the face of men’s health. Founded in 2003, the first Movembers saw men sponsored to grow moustaches to raise money for Prostate Cancer. Since then the Movember Foundation has grown to support men’s health, with a focus on testicular and prostate cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. But how can you take part?

Grow a Mo’

The classic Movember moustache is still going. Start November clean-shaven, and ask friends and family to sponsor you to grow a moustache throughout the month. The more ridiculous the facial hair the better! You can sign up solo or as a team. Why not join up with some friends, your sports team or some work colleagues and raise more cash together?

There are no excuses for you ladies either. In past Movembers, Mo’ Sistas have donned fake ‘taches to raise funds too.

Move for Movember

If growing some face furniture isn’t for you, you could try moving for Movember. The Foundation has challenged people to walk, run or swim 60km in November. The 60km represents the 60 men lost to suicide every hour.

You could complete your distance alone, with friends, outside, in the pool, or on a treadmill. Just remember to chase those sponsors.

What else can I do?

There are lots of ways you can raise some cash for Movember. Organise a sports match or a dinner party. Host a pub quiz. Organise a sponsored shave for those growing moustaches. Fun sponsored activities can work brilliantly in offices, so get your boss to help you arrange some sponsored shenanigans to keep the cash coming in.
